BioLactobionic Acid

BioLactobionic Acid

Lactobionic Acid is an oxidized form of lactose extracted from milk, and is a cosmetic ingredient that can be used safely in all skin types because it is naturally produced in the body. Lactobionic Acid (LBA) consists of a glycolic acid molecule and a galactose molecule. and it’s known to be the mildest exfoliating ingredients such as AHA BHA.

In terms of exfoliating effectiveness, LBA(Lactobionic Acid) has a larger molecular size than Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) and Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) and such size differences make LBA slowly absorbs into the skin and stand as a hypoallergenic exfoliator, namely knowns as a third-generation for exfoliating which gets absorbed into the skin without irritating the skin.

LBA(Lactobionic Acid) has a large number of hydroxyl groups, which makes it absorb moisture in the atmosphere and form a natural gel matrix on the skin. At the same time, LBA not only works to exfoliate the skin but work to moisturize the skin long-term which keeps the skin softer, brighter, and healthier.

GF Fermentech's BioLactobionic Acid is a 100% natural material produced through the proprietary fermentation process. Its clinical test in human subjects has proven its excellence in exfoliation, moisturizing, skin barrier improvement, and wrinkle improvement. LBA is a next-generation skincare ingredient that could replace AHA and BHA.
